I get the opportunity to assist learners who struggle as well as those who are gifted. I am also grateful for the chance to help teachers in their learning environment.

I see all 'kids' having a 10 on their forehead and each is capable of achieving anything IF WE BELIEVE IN THEM.

So what if they don't succeed at Maths or an English test!!! Is that how we gauge a person's talents? I certainly don't and hope you do not as well.

For me, working on their self -esteem is far more important. THIS LEADS TO RESULTS AND A LOVE OF LEARNING.

Since I first started reading this book, some 'things' have already happened.
They may be little items but I am fully aware that I have not caused them to happen.

I wish I had come across this book many years ago...my life would certainly have been one with less 'challenges'.

Go For It ... get yourself a copy.

Well done, Herman.

Firstly, thanks for sharing your family experiences with allowances.

You must be so proud of your son's initiative and entrepreneurship. And also yourself.

It feels to me that your willingness to pay him has had a huge 'spin off'.

So, what is your 14yr old going to do with the $100? Love to hear what he does.

Cheers

I give my kids an allowance each month but now my 14 year old boy wants to get paid for doing the lawns ($10 for 30 mins of work). So far I've gone with it and it inspired him to go round the neighborhood to mow lawns. He made $100 is one afternoon! I'm still struggling with paying him for doing our own lawn since I see it as one of his chores....however I'm going to let it slide for now.

Wholeheartedly agree.

It is best to go through a national organization like VolunteerMatch.org, Junior Achievement (ja.org) or Big Brothers and Sisters (because they do background checks first). Contrary to popular belief mentors are invaluable regardless of your age/your child's age and your economic background. Mentors LISTEN which allows your child or TEEN to fully express themselves without fear of repercussion. And they actually enjoy listening and interacting with a neutral 3rd party who knows nothing about their family background or history. And very much encourage ALL parents to become mentors to someone else as well.

You are amazing! It was a pleasure to hear that you with your family and friends.

What games do you play? Do you ever sit back and see how others play the game?..the words they use, the actions they take and so on?

love to hear what game you are talking about.

Once again, THANK YOU.

Have a memorable day

Hey Tom
Thank you for your positive comments. Is there any particular area that you would like me to post about? what topics?

By the way, do you have kids? If so what ages? I would like to do a tele-seminar shortly on topics that would benefit people in my community.

What would you like to hear about?

Once again, thank you for your valued comment.

Work SMARTER,not harder.
